For parents and guardians
What it is. What we ask. What we don't.
Innovator is a national innovation competition for students aged 15–19. Here is exactly what your child does, how we keep them safe, and the consent we ask for.
Time commitment
Most students spend 2–4 hours per week during the cycle, in their own time. They can work alone or with up to three teammates from their school or others.
Safeguarding
We have a Designated Safeguarding Lead and a published Safeguarding Policy. All adults involved in mentoring or judging are subject to safer-recruitment checks. Read the policy.
Photo and video consent
Photos and video at events are opt-in per student. We ask separately and you can withdraw consent at any time. No identifying images of under-18s are published without consent.
What we collect
We collect the minimum: name, school, year group and an email for account recovery. We never share contact details with sponsors or third parties without consent. Privacy notice.
